Classic LP with excellent recordings of Southern Vietnamese instrumental music by master-musicians Nguyên Vĩnh Bảo and Trần Văn Khê.
Side A was recorded in Paris, while Side B was recordd in Saigon.

Trần Văn Khê (July 24, 1921, Binh Hoà Dông, Viêt-Nam – June 24, 2015, Hồ Chí Minh City, Việt-Nam) was a Vietnamese Đàn Kim, Đàn Co, Đàn Tranh, Trông player and ethnomusicologist.
He was director of research at Centre national de la recherche scientifique for 16 years, and professor of ethnomusicology at Université de la Sorbonne during 19 years.
Trân was later a member of the laboratory team UPR 298 "Comparative studies on Southeast Asia", board member of Unesco-IMC project entitled "The Universe of Music : a History" (UMH)", and also honorary member of Conseil international de la musique (Unesco).

Nguyên Vĩnh Bảo (August 19, 1918, Caolanh, Sadec, Viêt-Nam - January 7, 2021, Cao Lãnh, Đồng Tháp, Vietnam) was a Vietnamese Đàn Tranh player, and former professor at Conservatoire National de Musique in Saïgon, and at the Southern Illinois University in Carbondale (U.S.A.).

The gatefold sleeve comes with an 8-page booklet and musicological explanations about the music.
This is the rare first French pressing from 1971 on Ocora, and is in very good condition.
